After a thorough feedback process and assessment, Philanthropy U has been certified as a Great Place to Work in its first attempt at certification.
As a small and growing organization, our team is our most valuable asset. We work hard to create a work culture where each employee feels appreciated and fulfilled. Our values are a cornerstone of this effort: Do the difficult, Be vulnerable, Step up, See the whole person, Protect the town, Seek Joy and Move with purpose; these values embody how we approach our work, as well as each other.
As a mission-driven organization, we work every day to catalyze sustainable development by giving frontline practitioners free access to fundamental training, networking and funding opportunities. We think of our organization as a town, with its own traditions and culture, where each townsperson is respected offers a unique contribution to our mission. Everything from our strategy and product to our office culture is designed with our learners in mind. “Our organization only thrives when we are successful at identifying, hiring and retaining employees who are deeply dedicated to our mission and excited by the challenges ahead,” says Stan Hou, Director of Strategy and Business Operations at Philanthropy U. “We are thrilled that our employees love working here and that we can, officially, share that excitement through our new Great Place To Work certification.”
As illuminated in our Great Place To Work assessment, 100% of our employees say this is a great place to work. Our employees noted they most appreciate our generous paid parental leave, individual learning and development budgets as well as flexible working arrangements (such as ‘Work from Home Wednesdays’). Our management team was recognized for their approachability, project management skills and competency.
